From the article: Thanksgiving Wines
Thanksgiving is one of the most wine-friendly holidays around. That said, plenty of oenophiles stash away their preferred "wines in waiting" to debut between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We want to know which wines will you be serving at Thanksgiving this year? Share Your Wine
Pinot Noir, Sterling Winery
- Dinner was wonderful. I pulled all the recipes from Epicurious.com serving Pear/Sweet Potato Bisque, Arugula/ Pancetta Salad, Fig and Pomegranate Stuffing, Herbed Butter Turkey, and wonderful homemade cranberry Sauce. No dinner is complete without Fennel Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, and Green bean Casserole. Gotta please the kids even if they are 21 and 24. Check out thses recipe! absolutely wonderful. My daughters gave me the best compliment when stating they would prefer my turkey over Daddy's who has made the turkey every year since we married 27 yrs ago. Wow!

Oregon pinot works for me
- Love to serve an Oregon pinot - preferably with dark fruits and some earth, and a few years of age. Thinking about a 2004 Bergstrom Shea.

Sauvignon Blanc
- We ALWAYS serve a Sauvignon Blanc or two with Thanksgiving - the herby undertones in many a Sauv Blanc are a perfect match up with the stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes and of course turkey meat. St. Supery, Simi, Dry Creek, Kim Crawford (typically more tropical than herbal, but still beautiful) and some Chilean SBs are among my favorites.
