Dan and Margaret Duckhorn established Duckhorn Vineyards in 1976. With over 30 years of winemaking experience, this winery has established itself as the premier Merlot producer in the Napa Valley. If folks are looking for a top-notch, well-presented Merlot there is no need to look further than Duckhorn. Duckhorn vineyards is known for producing outstanding Bordeaux-varietal wines in the Napa Valley.

Wines to Try at Duckhorn:

Duckhorn is known for their award winning Merlot. So if you want to try the latest and greatest, then give the 2004 Duckhorn Vineyards Estate Grown Napa Valley Merlot a go. However, if you would like to keep the price closer to $50 mark then try the 2005 Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot. Duckhorn also produces a few phenomenal Cabernet Sauvignon wines as well as a sprite Sauvignon Blanc.

Duckhorn Vineyards Tours and Tastings:

The Duckhorn Estate house is open daily from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. For $20 you can taste four current release wines. Reservations are recommended either by phone or email. For tours the cost is $30 (including tour and wine tasting), prior reservations are needed to go on the 60 minute winery tour.
