Aragonez

By

Definition: Aragonez is one of Portugal's dominating red wine grapes. Known as Tempranillo in Spain and Tinta Roriz in Portugal's Alentejo growing region, this grape is used in both Port production as well as Portugal's table wines.

Flavor Characteristic: flavors of plum, cherry, and strawberry often mixed with an earthy minerality.

Food Pairings - Aragonez wines are perhaps one of the most food friendly wines around. They offer versatility and value - without forsaking flavor and lift. Consider pairing them with game, red meats, pork, grilled or roasted entrees.

Also Known As: Tinta Roriz, Tempranillo
