Clos Du Val was founded in 1972 by French winemaker Bernard Portet and American businessman John Goelet. Bernard Portet is still creating distinguished Napa Valley wines with decidedly "Old World" style, now with the help of vice president John Clews.

Dan and Margaret Duckhorn established Duckhorn Vineyards in 1976. With over 30 years of winemaking experience, this winery has established itself as the premier Merlot producer in the Napa Valley. Boasting one of Sonoma County's most beautiful gardens and grounds, not to mention plenty of award winning wines at a variety of price points, Ferrari-Carano has certainly been a viticultural stronghold in the heart of the county for over 20 years.
