Wine of the Week: Red Truck Merlot 2006 (CA) $12

The Red Truck Merlot is a smooth sipping red wine with a good bit of spice and tons of red berry and cherry action on the palate. This Merlot is technically a blend of 83% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, giving it both definition and a touch of assertiveness. The aroma is all berry with an overlay of mocha. The palate presents a soft approach with plenty of ripe red fruit and sprinkles of spice, followed by an oak-induced finish. Delicious on its own or paired with roasted beef or chicken cuts, grilled veggies, pizza or with tomato based recipes.

Basic Mimosa Recipe - It doesn't get any easier than this, the basic Mimosa recipe calls for a bottle of your favorite champagne and orange juice. A dash of each and you are in business to celebrate a wedding, Mother's day, whatever the occasion - nothing says fancy brunch like a Mimosa.
The Mama Mimosa - Take your traditional Mimosa recipe and add a delicate splash of an orange liquer topped with crushed raspberry ice - this Mimosa is not called the "Mama Mimosa" for nothing! a
The Passion Fruit Mimosa - This recipe takes the basic Mimosa and turns it up a notch, by replacing orange juice with passion fruit juice! Once you've enjoyed a Passion Fruit Mimosa, it is unlikely that you'll settle for the standard OJ and bubbles during your next celebratory brunch.
