Wine of the Week: Fritsch Riesling Wagram 2011 (Austria) $18

I recently tasted through the 2011 Fritsch Riesling from Austria's wine-growing region of Wagram.  Fritsch brings an ultra-dry white wine to the table with good fruit on the nose - a dynamic combination of green apple, stone fruit and a touch of citrus with an earth-laden, mineral-driven nature rounding out the primary aroma profile.

On the palate you can expect a lean, racy wine with clean lines, crisp textures, solid balance and a decent dose of mouthwatering acidity.  This well-made Austrian Riesling presents a very food-friendly wine for summer with its foodie sights set on seafood, Thai, roasted veggies and garlic based dishes.
