I recently participated in an online Chilean Wine Tasting with a focus on the country's Sauvignon Blancs. One of the more economically priced Sauv Blancs also happened to be one of the most captivating (don't you just love it when that happens!). The Veramonte Sauvignon Blanc was the first wine tasted in the lineup and initally impressed me with its quality to price ratio.
The wine itself brings an assorted array of fruit to the forefront, beginning with a heavy dose of citrus and pressing on towards the richer flavors of stone fruit, all encased in a tangy minerality. I found this wine to be a classic presentation of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc with an intensity and vibrant zest that nudge it towards the "exceptional value circle" in record time.
