Wine of the Week: Iron Horse Estate Chardonnay 2005 (CA) $20

The 2005 Iron Horse Estate Chardonnay gets its groove from its estate grown Chardonnay grapes, that are allowed fairly full expression without excessive malolactic fermentation to cover up the character. Both the oak and the time spent on the lees add complexity and texture to this Chardonnay and serve to further engage your senses, from first sip to last drip.
-
On the palate expect Granny Smith apple, pear, wisps of vanilla and a rich, creamy decadent mouthfeel. This is a solid white wine to pair with anything from dishes with savory cream-based sauces to fresh Halibut, Salmon, lobster and plenty of poultry options.

I love Iron Horse’s wines especially their 2004 Russian Cuve and their UnOaked Chardonnay.
