Wine of the Week: Mark West Pinot Noir 2007 (CA) $10

The 2007 Mark West Pinot Noir is a fantastic value wine find, and with Thanksgiving dinner just around the corner it's a good time to grab a few bottles, as it will pair perfectly with the traditional turkey dinner. Give this wine extra consideration if you are serving any dishes with mushrooms in the mix. This particular ruby colored Pinot presents ripe raspberry aromas and delicious cherry fruit on the palate with a dash of vanilla. It is a medium-bodied, silky smooth, red wine that offers a tremendous amount of food versatility.

I agree with your comments on Mark West Pinot (2007). I discovered this wine a couple of weeks ago when me and my wife went for a glass of wine at an intimate Asian Fusion restuarant, and thought it was a great light bodied Pinot Noir. The price amazed me and I actually bought a couple of bottles to bring to Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone loved the wine to no surprise of mine.

It’s wonderful to find an affordable Pinot Noir that actually tastes good!

Save $7 and have a Luden’s Wild Cherry cough drop instead. Excuse me Mr. West, let me be serious and just say this Pinot Noir is VERY cherry and sweet. Vanilla on the finish. It mellowed out after a few hours of being open and is much improved on the second night.

I attended a networking cocktail hour at a downtown lounge/restaurant, the waitress suggested this wine and I really enjoyed it. It is light, smooth, silky, sweet, fruity, and tastes good. the check for the glass of wine was $8.00 and $2.00 was taken of that becuz it was happy hour.
