Wine of the Week: Columbia Crest Chardonnay - Grand Estates Columbia Valley 2006 (WA) $10

This particular Columbia Crest Chardonnay offers a lot of bang for the buck. You'll notice an abundance of pear on the palate with plenty of butter in the balance. This is a surprisingly refined Chardonnay, with an ultra creamy texture and an interdependent display of acidity and oak. The price range varies from $8-12 depending on the vendor, so consider checking around on this one.

This is my favorite wine–very balanced. When I get it on sale for $8 I stock up. Thanks for featuring it.

Normally preferring a red wine, I recently tried Columbia Crest Chardonnay at a restaurant. Truth be told, I ordered it because it was one of the few lowered priced wines on the menu. I enjoyed it tremendously!! In addition, a few at my table who ordered more expensive Chardonnays tasted mine and preferred it. I sampled theirs and agreed mine was by far better. Kudos Columbia Crest!
