Wine of the Week: Rotta Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles 2004 (CA) $16

Monday May 19, 2008

The 2004 Rotta Cabernet Sauvignon is a stand-out Cab from a unique, boutique winery. This wine was a hit at a recent wine tasting, it is an approachable wine with great aroma, definitive palate presence and a well-sustained finish. The palate profile is a delicious blend of juicy, jammy fruit - lots of plum and dark cherry. There are deep abiding tannins that corral the wine, maintaining beautiful balance and a remarkable finish. A great option for summer steaks, grilled game or a plate of blue cheese and seasoned crackers.
