Wine of the Week: King Estate Pinot Gris 2006 (OR) $17

Thursday May 8, 2008

The '06 King Estate Pinot Gris is a fresh, spritely wine ready to woo green spring days and warm summer sun! The color is very straw-like and the aroma presents pineapple, sweet honey and a good splash of citrus. The palate is engaging - lots of ripe citrus and green apple, once again the pineapple makes its presence known on the palate as well. There is a sense of earth and unmistakable minerality that encases the fruit flavors in a fresh and vitalizing manner. This Pinot Gris has virtually unlimited food pairing potential, making it a perfect wine for summer's best fare!
