Wine of the Week: Villa Antinori Toscana 2004 (Italy) $20
Friday February 22, 2008
The 2004 Villa Antinori Toscana starts with a deep garnet color and a bouquet dominated by red fruit. The flavor profile is full of well ripened cherry and raspberry along with a bit of pepper on the palate. It is a medium bodied blend of Sangiovese (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Merlot (15%) and Syrah (5%) and has both good acidity and overall balance. Technically speaking this wine could be well classified as a "Super Tuscan," albeit with a reasonable price tag. Give it a go with shrimp cocktail, braised beef or spaghetti and meatballs.

Excellent wine. Had it for the first time and it was pleasing to the palete and easy to drink.Just had it with a wondeerful dish of Zuppe de Pesce in a light marinara sause. Wine was a great compliment.
Very palatable wine. Great aroma, smooth taste, blends compliment each other well!
