Wine of the Week: Artesa Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (CA) $25

Thursday November 8, 2007

Artesa Winery's 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon would be a welcome accompaniment to a myriad of festive holiday dishes, particularly roasted duck, prime rib or suitably employed in a rich, red wine sauce. This is a full-bodied red, with a robust fruit forward nature. The palate presence is comprised largely of dark cherry and tantalizing spice, sustained by a defined tannin structure - this wine has plenty of spine, yet it melds seamlessly into an ultra elegant finish. A versatile red wine to keep on hand for the upcoming season's culinary demands!
