Wine of the Week: Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc 2006 (CA) $32
I was recently introduced to Spottswoode Estate Vineyard and Winery, and what a treat to meet their 2006 Sauvignon Blanc! The color is eye catching, a clear glimmer of yellow and the aromas surrender a full bounty of brisk citrus. The palate offers a tantalizing blend of the foreshadowed citrus melodies, namely an enchanting blend of lemons and lime, a bit of grapefruit and a touch of pineapple all enveloped in a silky vanilla covering. This Sauvignon Blanc boasts both weight and well-established acidity, resulting in a powerful Sauvignon Blanc that will take care of you amidst many a fall fare. This is definitely a wine to keep your eye on for Thanksgiving, or if you are looking for a special wine find or hostess gift.
