Wine of the Week: Firestone's Santa Ynez Valley Syrah 2004 (CA) $18

Firestone's Santa Ynez Valley 2004 Syrah is a perfect autumn wine, it has spice and spunk with a fairly full-bodied style. It also enjoys it's fair share of tannins that offer support without overpowering the vibrant fruit flavors. The flavor profile includes blackberry with a bit of clove and a dark chocolate, rich coffee finish. Consider pairing this Syrah with peppered steak, mushroom based sauces or soups and spicy smoked sausage.
