The 2006 Bonterra Vineyard's Sauvignon Blanc is Bonterra's first Sauvignon Blanc vintage, but certainly it won't be its last! This is a topnotch Sauvignon Blanc, with all that the new world wine styles have to offer - plenty of green grass earthiness melded with tropical fruits on the nose. This is followed by the fresh summer flavors of lemon, lime, melon and hints of kiwi on the palate. There is a distinct minerality in this wine that hints at its organic roots and the extra care given to reflect the soil and overall terroir that gave rise to the fruit. Bonterra has the distinct privilege of being an organic winery and has utilized screw caps to seal in the best of the vintage in this year's Sauvignon Blanc debut. Talk about best foot forward, this is one white wine to have on hand for summer's choice gatherings!
