Wine Sulfites

Friday June 8, 2007
Wine Sulfites are a hot topic in the world of wine. There are those who only buy wines from France because they "don't have sulfites" (not true, but interesting), or those who can't drink red wines because of the high sulfite levels (ironically dessert white wines contain the highest levels of sulfites). There are a lot of myths surrounding sulfites in wine, by asking a few questions it's easy to separate fact from fiction. What are sulfites? Why are they in wine? Why does the FDA require a sulfite warning label? Get answers to these questions and more here.
