Wine of the Week: Hogue Cellars Fume Blanc 2005 (WA) $8

Thursday May 24, 2007

The Hogue Cellars Fume Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc grape) is a perfect party white wine. The dominant aroma and flavor of this wine begin with grapefruit and are followed by a bit of melon.

This is a medium-bodied with well-balanced acidity and a crisp, vivid finish. Semillon has been blended in at 25% to make for a richer palate. A great white wine to serve with fresh shellfish, appetizers, artichokes and sauteed dishes.
Note Hogue cellars uses the screwcap closure to ensure wine's optimum freshness and omit the possibility of cork taint. ....................................................................................................
