Wine of the Week: Saracco Moscato D'Asti 2005 (Italy) $13
The 2005 Saracco Moscato D'Asti is a fantastic sparkling white wine find. This wine hails from the Asti DOCG in Italy's famed Piedmont region. Derived from 100% Muscat grapes - this is a fresh, inviting sparkler capable of handling an ultra rich cheese-cake (friends and I tried this with a honey-baked, marscapone cheesecake - fantastic!) or going solo as an afternoon apertif. Let the aromas of honeysuckle and the flavors of ripe peaches and a splash of candied pear dazzle amidst the light sparkle of this authentic Moscato. While, probably not the first choice for a wine to accompany a rich chocolate dessert, it is certainly up for the challenge of cream-based desserts or fresh fruit sorbets. With a low alcohol content (5.5% abv) and sweet flavors resulting from the natural residual sugars, this wine is as refreshing as it is easily attainable. Keep this one in mind for upcoming Mother's Day celebrations and spontaneous summer gatherings!

I absolutely love this wine! It’s never a bad choice! Everyone who tries it immediately asks me where they can purchase it! This is definitely a crowd pleaser!javascript:window.close()

This wine truly has a great all-around taste. Perfect with dessert, or for dessert, this wine will be the talk of the table! My mom introduced Saracco to my sister and I, and we haven’t been able to stop buying it since. I would highly recommend this wine to any one and every one!
