Wine and Allergies - Should Wine Labels include Allergen Warnings?

The U.S. government is considering new labeling requirements for wine bottles. These new wine labels would require allergen warnings to indicate if any known allergens were used in the making (during the fining process) of a particular wine. Allergy causing agents that may be used in the winemaking process include: milk protein (casein), egg whites and fish membrane. However, these agents are not typically found in statistically significant quantities in a finished bottle of wine. Read more...
