Wine of the Week: Vina Robles Petite Sirah 2004 (CA) $26
Wednesday November 8, 2006
The Vina Robles 2004 Petite Sirah is a remarkable red wine that presents fresh berry fruit flavors mingled with well-ripened plums. This full-bodied wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and the velvety vanilla flavors are a pleasing result. You will notice the textured tannins and the well-balanced acidity both of which make this a perfect complement to a wide variety of red meats, including game, and flavorful sausages.

I’ve tasted it. Very nice at very nice price.
Wow! I’m having a bottle of the Vina Robles Petite Sirah Jardine 2003 right now and it is WONDERFUL. I’ve been to Paso Robles many times just to wine taste and I’ve never even heard of Vina Robles until now. I’m definitely going to visit this winery in the near future and may become a club member. The online price is $26 but I got this bottle for under $18 at Costco. You can bet I’ll be there tomorrow looking for more.
If you’ve ever had the 2000 Bridlewood Central Coast Syrah you’ll have a good idea of what the Vina Robles Petite Sirah tastes like. But better! The Wine Spectator rated this wine a 89 (Bridlewood) but they were off by at least 3 points. I think they’re off by one or two points on the Vina Robles.
Find a bottle and Enjoy! I am as we “speak”
