New Product Allows "Recorking" of Wine
Saturday May 13, 2006
The Pek (pronounced "peak") Wine Steward allows one to top off an opened bottle of wine with a layer of argon gas. This inert argon gas provides an effective barrier to inhibit the wine's natural oxidation process (which will eventually turn great wine to mere vinegar). This process extends the life and flavor of the wine for several days, making it one of the best ways to preserve opened wine bottles currently available.

Not sure about the claim that argon is “a barrier”. Yes, it would form an initial layer on top of the wine surface, but then the air would mix with it and dilute its effectiveness as a barrier.
Thing is, it’s like good chocolate, how can you just take one chunk and put the rest of the bar away? Just eat it! same with wine. If you like it and it cost good money, drink it, why let it go overnight as no matter what you put in it, it won’t taste the same again, so enjoy the moment and drink it.
If someone takes the time out to make something so useful and helpful we should take the time out and read it. You may be impressed with what you read.
