Will Monterey become the "new" Napa? There is a proposal being made to designate over 80 miles of "wine country" roads in Monterey county as a select wine corridor. New wineries, restaurants, tasting rooms and bed and breakfasts would round out the proposed designation, allowing Monterey county to make an even bigger mark on the California wine map.
