Wine of the Week: Jacob's Creek Steingarten Riesling 2002 (Australia) $28

Monday September 19, 2005
The Steingarten Riesling, in the Jacob's Creek Heritage Series, is a wonderfully dry white wine. The dominate flavors of lemon, lime and a touch of earthiness combine with a minerally edge to produce a well-balanced, crisp finish that is as elegant as it is refreshing. This Riesling would pair particularly well with either a seafood, poultry or vegetarian dish - anything with a healthy dose of fresh, savory herbs will only accentuate the Steingarten Riesling's character and vivid complexity. As a fun aside, this is a high caliber wine that presents itself with a screw cap closure to ensure optimal flavor and aroma preservation.
