The 2001 Grgich Hills Merlot is a wonderful summer wine, easy-going enough to be enjoyed sip by sip on the deck, but with enough depth to pair with grilled favorites, pastas or salads. This red wine enjoys a full-body with deep garnet coloring, and peppery aromas. The flavor profile consists of cherry, strawberry, and rich dark chocolate. As far as Merlots go this is one that just keeps on giving.
